Top Secret Recipe

This is our very favorite Sloppy Joe recipe.  A couple of years ago I borrowed my Grandma's recipe box from my Aunt and this was one of the gems we found.  My husband loves this and so do all my kids.  The best part is that it is super easy.

Sloppy Joes

1/4 C Molasses
1/4 C Mustard
3 T Vinegar
2 T Worchestershire Sauce
1/2 C Ketchup
3/4 t salt
1 lb Ground Beef

Blend together molasses, mustard, stir in vinegar and seasonings, simmer until blended.

Brown ground beef, add sauce.

Yesterday I put everything in the crockpot and let it go all day.  I used 1 lb of ground beef and 1 lb of ground turkey.  The recipe is easy to double and totally customizable.  I never have the Worchestershire in my fridge and I usually leave out the vinegar.

Now you can throw out that nasty packet of sloppy joe "spices" that has been lurking in your cupboard filled with a bunch of unpronounceable ingredients.  Enjoy!

I haven't made sloppy joes in months! My son Jonah takes offense at the name. ;-) He is pretty sloppy, though. Thanks for dropping by Get Along Home! I'm following you now!
