Surviving a Cross Country Move::A 10 Day Series

October 14, 2013 by Jen 2 Comments

Today starts a 10 day series on Surviving a Cross-Country Move.  We did it, we moved our family of 8 from Michigan to Florida and lived to tell about it!

Over the next 10 days I’m going to share some tips and tricks to making a big move as easy and painless as possible – yes it is possible.

Cross-Country Moving Tips

I will have resources and some fabulous guest posts from others who have moved their families.  It’s not easy, but if you are following your dream, it’s oh so worth the trouble.

I shared more about our decision to move to Florida a couple of months ago.  It simply boils down to having a dream and then taking the steps to make it happen.  Really, the same principles can apply to any dream or goal, not just moving.

I’m look forward to sharing 10 days of encouragement, information and a little bit of inspiration.  I hope you join me!

All the links to the series are here!

Also, I’m not the only one doing a 10 day series this October, please be sure check out the other bloggers that are offering great content this month:  Hopscotch: Autumn 2013

I am looking forward to reading more! I am curious, will you be discussing how to find/locate specialists for children who need them? I know one of the reasons I always feel sort of “stuck” in the town we live in (besides older son’s deep attachment to the place where he has friends) is because we have finally found all the right “specialists” to help with things like speech, reading difficulties, and medical doctors for special needs. I dread the idea of having to go through all that, but if you are working through this issue at all, that would be great to hear your thoughts.

Well, it’s something that would be high on my “worry” list when deciding whether to make a move or not. But then, I do have kids with a lot of needs right now. In the future, as they are older, it probably won’t be as much a concern.
