Leah's Turn

I am really excited to share that our daughter Leah's story is featured on the Rainbow Kids website today!

I have long been a big fan of Rainbow Kids, not just because two of our six {Sarah too!}, found us through the site, but because it always contains so much helpful, relevant information.  If you haven't yet taken a minute to peruse the site please do so, you will be blessed.

This week I am feeling so very thankful for the many opportunities to share our adoption stories.

What a beautiful story! We've been doing Rhythmic Movement Therapy with our second son for 9 months now and that's helped him a lot with his speech but as his visual processing issues have resolved, we realize that there may also be auditory processing issues as well as he's still struggling with remembering and making certain sounds. Your perseverance on behalf of Leah has boosted my morale to once more explore what we might do for him. He's such a joyful, funny, clever, and sweet boy but as he gets older, and his younger sister becomes a competent reader and he struggles, his self-esteem is plummeting. I feel like I just need to unlock the mystery of his brain so I can begin to help him reach his potential.

I enjoy Rainbowkids' site too. and i remember perusing it daily for months, looking at all those beautiful faces (all of them were / are beautiful) as we were taking our first steps toward adoption. I'm on my way there now to check our Leah's and your family's story! God bless.

Kimberlie- I have never heard of RMT! There is so much out there as far as therapy is concerned it can be overwhelming. I know, if only we had the right "key" from the get go!! God is faithful though and we just need to keep on keeping on! Thanks for reading.
