Weekly Photo Collage :: 11/2/2012

I didn’t get to a photo collage last Friday, it was just one of those weeks and I had to let something go.  We did have some nice weather, nice enough to do some school outside.  Jacob was working on some things when I wanted to take a picture, he wasn’t in the mood for a photo shoot!  We dog sat for a couple of days, the dog always provides lots of excitement to the house.  Good thing she is a good dog and really enjoys the kids because she never gets a moments peace when she’s here.
I posted about Jacob officially earning his 2nd degree junior black belt (same qualifications as a regular black belt, it’s considered a junior because of his age).  The pumpkin carrot tray was my contribution to the pot-luck after the Tae Kwon Do test.
We had a Halloween pot-luck to attend, and I made pumpkin muffins.  We had received some pie pumpkins from our CSA, the muffins were very good.  My husband said it was “the best muffin” he had ever eaten.  I’m not sure about that but they were good!  I’ll post the recipe next week.

I also needed to make a new batch of laundry detergent.  For some reason I always dread making it, it seems like an ordeal but it really only takes about 15 minutes, plus sitting overnight.  It’s so completely worth it, I will never pay for detergent at the store – what a waste of money!

Anna celebrated her birthday this week.  I love this picture, her siblings are just as excited as she is!

The bigger kids are almost done with their co-op for the semester.  They have thoroughly enjoyed all of their classes.  This week, Jacob made a robot in his Lego Robotics class.

November is National Adoption Month and I did my first vlog.  It was fun to do and a good project for Jacob.  He got to tutor me in iMovie and YouTube 😉

Have a great weekend!

    Oooh! I need to ask you, my husband has sensitive skin. He uses ONE kind of soap and ONE kind of laundry detergent. He scoffs at my desire to make our own laundry soap because he is convinced it will make him break out in hives. Do you know if this is a possibility? Is it bad for sensitive skin? If you don’t know, do you know where I could find out? :)

    I don’t know for sure if your husband would react, you may not know until you try! But it is made with very gentle ingredients such as Fels Naptha, Borax, and Super Washing Soda. Maybe you could start off with a little batch and see what happens. Good luck!
