How to Have a Fit Summer

A fit summer? Yes you can!  Being fit doesn’t have to mean spending hours in the gym either.  The goal for me has never been to make the cover of a magazine, but to be healthy, have energy to do the things I want to do, and to be a good steward of the body I have been given – it’s the only one I’ve got!

Finding Time to Exercise

During a bulk of the year when we are busy with academics and activities, it can be a challenge to find the time to exercise.  The summer, however, is a great time to get into the habit of daily exercise.  That habit can then continue into the fall and winter.

As I have shared before, it works best for me to work out in the morning and work out with my husband.  We normally don’t get up quite as early in summer, but we still try to maintain our routine, even on vacation!

My husband and I got started on our fitness path with the help of the Thrive program from Fit Marriage.  I was excited to see that included in this week’s Bundle of the Week is a book from Dustin Reichman and Tony DiLorenzo called Happy, Healthy, & Hot! –  this is a fabulous offering.

BundleoftheWeek.com, 5 eBooks for $7.40!

I’m looking forward to adding these to my e-book collection and getting some inspiration.  These 5 e-books are available for $7.40 – a great value!

I don’t particularly enjoy running, but we have run a 5k as a family and plan to do so again this summer.  It’s a great goal for the family.  Perhaps you like to run or want to give it a try, Dianna has 10 Tips for Running a Half Marathon

I love this post from Victoria at Snails Pace Transformations - Why I Love Being a Fit Mom and How You Can Be One Too.  I have to admit I’m not sure about the roller coaster thing or the high dive, but I certainly get what she’s talking about!
