Weekly Photo Collage :: 9/29/2012

We have had a whirlwind of a week.  I wish I could say it was a productive week, school wise, but it wasn't our best.  The week started with Bob being out of town for work which always adds a little bit more "excitement" to our week.  Then our dishwasher stopped working and it was time for a new one.  I normally run our dishwasher two times a day, so to be without one for a couple of days was a bit of a pain.  I'm very thankful for a new dishwasher!!

We celebrated Jacob's Family Day on Wednesday.  The past 11 years have gone by so quickly and we are so thankful to be his Mom and Dad.

On our busy afternoons it's so helpful to have dinner in the crock pot.  Wednesdays are our out and about days so I have been putting meatloaf in the crock pot for the kids.  Nice to have dinner ready for them when we get home.

Tae Kwon Do is also keeping us hopping this weekend.  Sarah is testing on Friday night for her 2nd geup and Jacob does his pre-test on Saturday for his 2nd poom {black belt}.

I had to make a list of all the things we had going on for Friday afternoon and Saturday.  Seems like everyone needed to be someplace different!

Maybe I have mentioned this before but I'm attending BEECH Retreat in January 2013.   Not only am I looking forward to a weekend devoted to blogging and home education, I'm looking forward to getting out of Michigan for a weekend in the winter!!  It will be great to hear some inspiring speakers and meet some other wonderful blogging ladies.

On Monday I wrote a blog post about How I'm Voting This Year.  Normally my topics aren't too controversial, but this topic is too important for me not to talk about.  I hope you are registered to vote!

I'm glad you're talking about how you are voting, Jen. I admire that you did it in a very plain way -- take it or leave it. These are your values and you stick by them. I wish more people shared your convictions.

We just got a new dishwasher last month... the week w/out a dishwasher was painful, and it made me appreciate the luxuries we have in our lives!

I can't wait to finally meet you in January!!

Hi! I just wanted to say that I love your blog! I've always wanted to adopt, have six kids, and homeschool, so when I came across your blog it was just amazing. Again, your blog is wonderful.

Your new dishwasher is a beauty! I saw your fridge in the background of Jacob's photo and I think we have the same one! You had one crazy week. Hope your Sunday is quiet and relaxing.

Hi Jen~Oh, that meatloaf in the crock pot sounds good! It's not mushy? I've never done it not-baked...curious about it! Sounds like a busy but good week. Hope your husband made it home safe and sound:) Love how you celebrate your family days. Happy feast of the Little Flower! Wishing many "little" blessings to you and family!
