Toothpick Bridges & Structures: An Easy Activity

May 29, 2013 by Jen 4 Comments

Want a great rainy day activity that is good for a wide range of ages and abilities?

Try building bridges and other structures with toothpicks and marshmallows!

The only supplies needed are toothpicks, a variety of marshmallows, and of course an imagination.

This was an easy set-up as well as clean-up – my kind of activity!

*Quick Tip* – open the bags of marshmallows the day before you are going to use them to let them dry out a bit and get stale.  They are much less sticky to work with.

Great fine motor skills work too.

The older boys were more elaborate with their designs

I didn’t know that “quick tip”. I’ll need to remember it next time. And thanks for the links that go along…didn’t realize it would have so many!

Fun! I’m wondering if my boys would eat all of their materials. 😉
