Learning Room ::: 2010

I am excited to participate in the Not Back to School Blog Hop at Heart of the Matter.  I enjoyed seeing all the different places and space that people used to teach their children in 2009.  I am sure 2010 will be even better!

❉ Our Learning Space

❉ Retro chalkboard - I love this thing!  As much as our space has evolved over the years, this has been a constant.

❉ Workboxes for the older boys

❉ An old TV Armoire - now used for storage

❉ Workboxes for the younger four

❉ There you have it, our little educational corner of the world!

HT: Thanks to Spesamor Academy for reminding me this was going on!

Wow, Jen, it looks gorgeous and so organized. Is it a converted dining room? I love the big windows.

What is in all the workboxes? Do you have any trouble with the littles pulling them out?

Jen~ Great idea for reusing the old entertainment center. I also love the big, tall bookcases in the room.

As Joyfilled family mentioned, I like the colored green boxes. I think of "growth" when I see the green color.

Thanks for letting us peek into your school room!

P.S. I'm still giddy over your Christmas idea book!!!!

Lena-I love the storage bins. They are from IKEA and have held up very well is this busy house!

Lynn-it was a den or sitting room - it has gone from a playroom to tv room and now school room! I am going to write a more detailed post soon about our workboxes, but I use them for all of our subjects, Math, copywork, etc. My younger kids haven't bothered the older kids boxes and are learning to stay out of the others until the appropriate time. Sort of!

We have an old tv armoire as storage, too. Works great! And I love the old chalk board! Too bad I'm allergic to chalk. :(
