Kindergarten Plate

It's a tradition in our house to do a plate on the first day of Kindergarten.  The school system that Bob and I both attended did this, and when we were married our moms both gave us our plates!  We have continued to make a plate with each of our children.  It's a great way to mark the occasion and fun to look back over what the children have chosen to draw.

very neat tradition! I have a Christmas plate from Cami & Caleb when they made them in 5th grade art class. I showed them to Selah and told her that I would the kit at Hobby Lobby so she could make one this year, since she is already past 5th grade.

Now THAT is such a cute idea. I love doing "traditions" or reading about other peoples traditions.

She looks so cute with those two front teeth missing.

Tell her we think she did a great job drawing!

What a great tradition! I'm visiting from the Yahoo Homeschooling group, always happy to meet another Catholic homeschooling family :)

That's a lovely family tradition. I wished I had thought of that for our daughter.
